Chanakya is a graduate student at the MIT Media Lab, under the supervision of Paul Liang. His research is centered on advancing the theoretical foundations of multimodal learning and large language models, with additional interests in high-dimensional sampling.

Previously, Chanakya was a Predoctoral Researcher at Microsoft Research India, where he worked on problems centered around machine learning and graph-related such as supervised and unsupervised representation learning, spectral graph theory, and multi-behavior recommendation systems. He also pursued his master’s degree at EPFL, focusing on the intersection of generative AI and biology. During his time as an intern at Mila - Quebec AI Institute, he contributed to the development of GFlowNets for drug and vaccine discovery.
